The Marinelife Aquarium Society of Michigan and the Cranbrook Institute of Science are proud to be hosting the thirteenth annual Midwest Marine Conference, November 4-5, 2011.

It all starts on Friday evening with vendor set-up and a welcome reception where everyone is welcome to mingle with other fish geeks. The Conference starts bright and early Saturday morning at 8am for check-in. Attendees that purchase full Conference passes will have access to all speakers, the exhibit hall, a huge raffle and be entered into a drawing to participate in the Aquascaping contest. Full Conference passes are $25 for non-MASM members and $15 for current MASM members.

The four scheduled speakers this year are: Mike deGruy, Charles Delbeek, Steven Pro and Ret Talbot.

General admission tickets for the exhibit hall and raffle area only can be purchased at the door for only $3 after 1pm.

  • Tal got back into the hobby in 2006 after a long break. After hearing Dr. Frank Marini speak at the Midwest Marine Conference in 2008 he was hooked on fish breeding . Since then he has created his own website with his personal captive breeding information and helped create the Marine Breeding Initiative. It is Tal's hope to promote captive breeding as much as possible by speaking and writing about the topic.

Ecoxotic has donated two of their 10K White/453nm Blue Panorama LED Modules and two of their 453nm Panorama LED Modules to the Raffle. These are some nice lighting units everyone. Someone is going to walk away very happy!
