NOOOOO!

The CDC has effectively squashed the growth of yet another pet-eats-human-flesh spa treatment with their recent announcement that “fish pedicures” may not be a good idea.  Apparently, the fish can carry several types of bacteria that are known to infect humans and can lead to such horrible things as pneumonia, sepsis, meningitis, or (gasp) incredible soft and smooth feet.  Even more upsetting to those people who actually think this treatment would catch on is the mention that spas apparently starve the fish so they are voracious when you put your gnarled corns in the water.  So much for safe symbiosis in the world of foot therapy.  Follow the jump for a related message from Brick Top.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HAQ3pNHwj4

Would it be considered bad form to bring your own flesh eating fish or to ask for new ones? Meningitis is where I draw the line with risk vs. smooth feet.
