The absurdly beautiful 3D art of Keng Lye

All artwork and photos by Keng Lye

With all due respect to renowned Japanese master Riusuke Fukahori, Keng Lye (Singapore) challenges Fukahori for the title of world’s most skillful layered-resin artist.  We include a sampling of his incredible artwork.  More photos can be found on Lye’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

Lye meticulously paints and carves layer after layer of clear resin to slowly build up incredibly realistic textures and colors in three-dimensional space.  Lye’s attention to detail borders on obscene.  The hyper-realistic features on his fish scales are enough to make a grown man cry.  And just look at the intricate glass shrimps below.  For crying out loud … he even adds floating shrimp poop into his artwork!

Protip: You’ll have to keep reminding yourself these aren’t real.
