OceanLife
was one of the bigger exhibitors at Zoomark 2017.

The booth had an unusually open space with beautiful scenery. There was a wonderful tank by AquaProject, which we talked about in our editorial about Zoomark 2017, a lot of new products and, notably, one of the few marine aquariums of the exhibition.

There was a goodbye too, to the E5 bars presented during PetsFestival 2016 (here).

The Balling method according to OceanLife

There was quite a bit of news for the 2017-2018 season. Let’s start with the Balling method, which is in fashion right now, thanks to its ease. We made a guide to better understand what is it and how it works, which you can read here. OceanLife has developed its own balling which is articulated in the use of these four products: Ready CA 1, Ready KH 2, Ready Elements 3 and Ready Water 4.

Ready CA 1 is the first solution and contains 50,000 ppm of calcium. Ready KH 2 is the product recommended for carbonates, and contains a concentration of 5,000 dKH/L. The third product is Ready Elements 3 which contains the principal elements, including: Magnesium, Strontium, Boron, Potassium. And finally, the Ready Water 4 is a solution with no sodium chloride designed for preparing the water for the changes, because the chloride is already contained in the other three solutions.

OceanLife‘s site will be soon have a useful online calculator to help you to verify your own dosage for various situations. We have talked about it with the OceanLife staff and we can’t say any more right now, but it will certainly be a well-planned idea that will surprise you.

OceanLife presents Pro Experts

Everybody knows that nitrogen and phosphorous are necessary to the growth of corals, but only in infinitesimal levels. However, if our system removes those elements altogether, we may run into some serious problems. That’s why OceanLife has developed R Balance N and R Balance P. The former increases the nitrogen in the aquarium, the latter the phosphorous, if their levels are low enough to create problems in the growth of the aquarium.

Other news from OceanLife

OceanLife has also developed two new feeds, aimed at supporting optimal growth of corals. These products will be named LPS Food and Corvit but they’re not available yet. We’re looking forward to use and test them in our aquariums.

We reviewed them a few years ago, and reported optimal results, but today the nitrites test, the nitrates test, and the phosphates test have been improved even further, both in readability and in the detection scale.

OceanLife has devoloped its own line of fish feed: OceanLife Garlic and OceanLife Red Power. OceanLife Garlic, like its name suggests, is a feed with a pure garlic extract to improve the immunity defenses of the fish. OceanLife Red Power is a granular energizer containing a high concentration of Astaxantina, Omega3, Amino acids, and Vitamins, specifically designed to provide optimal nutrition.

Additionally, OceanLife now carries active carbon, and presented it both loose and with the zeolite. The new Zeo Carb is very interesting; it’s a mix of carbons and zeolites.

And finally, they have a new white sand, rightfully called White Sand, which free of pollution and designed for the marine aquarium. It’s also optimal as a DSB base. It will be sold in 4 liter and 25 kg containers.
