30th Anniversary Underwater Music Concert In The Florida Key’s

uwmusic2013Divers and snorkelers in the Florida attended the 30th anniversary annual Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival at Looe Key Reef today. The concert featured 4 hours of music which is heard underwater through a series of underwater speakers. Local Sculptor August Powers supplied the instruments which are then ‘played’ by the divers and snorkelers. Powers has been involved with the festival since it started, and makes a new whimsical underwater instrument every year. Local dive shops arrange trips to the spot, along with hundreds of private boats that gather on location. Surely a one of a kind dive to remember. I’m putting this on my dive/music calendar for next year. MORE
