Description

The True WWC Red Shortcake Acropora is similar to the pink and blue Acropora that we have occasionally seen exported from Fiji and the Solomons. This particular colony was exported from Australia and all three locations are found near the Coral Sea. This Australian morph develops bright baby blue pigments in its base, while branches can develop pink pigments in many locations. Branch corallites can be pink as well as branch stems. Polyp tentacles are also pink with an extended whitish tentacle. The more exotic pigment patterns develop between the blue area and pink areas of the coral colony, where pink and blue pigment combinations can be found.
