Clown tangs are very aggressive and will attack other tangs, even when they are very small. They also get very large in size and become even more aggressive. Care should be taken to ensure highly oxygenated seawater as it is very active. This species likes to eat hair algae (a plus), but if underfed, it will often pick at large polyp stony corals.
