To borrow Leonard Nimoy’s (RIP) final tweet: “A life aquarium is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory.” We often try to impose our vision on everything we touch (in aquariums and life), but often relinquishing control to nature and simply enjoying the moment can reveal the greatest satisfactions.
Here is a lovely aquarium where the plants are growing unkempt amidst a messy pile of rock and driftwood. The “finished” product is wonderfully natural. The stunning Apistogramma cichlids certainly don’t hurt either. Granted, a considerable amount of planning probably went into the original layout of the aquascape, but it’s clear this aquarist took a more hands-off approach as the aquarium matured … with spectacular results.
