Revisiting Hyposalinity

by | Feb 17, 2021 | Fish, Video | 0 comments

Years ago, I met up with my good friend, Lance Ichinotsubo of Elite Marinelife by Captive Seas, to do a video.

Lance, popular author of The Marine Fish Health & Feeding Handbook was one of founders of hyposalinity for our hobby over 40 years ago and has been at the forefront of our hobby in developing methods to eradicate unwanted pests that often come in with our beloved saltwater fish.

This footage is at least 5-6 years old. I felt that I hadn’t done proper justice to the topic and wasn’t happy with not so great overall quality of the video. I also had several complaints that the original video’s volume was quite low. So I went back and re-did the video to re-release it through reefs.com for everyone to see. I increased the volume is increased and tried to muffle the ambient noise while putting in more work for better b rolls.

Take a look and learn all about hyposalinity. Learn the history behind it, how it came to be, how to do it, how to maintain it, and all the do and don’ts about this method and how you can apply this as part of your quarantine procedures.
