Glass-blown gravity-defying desktop aquarium

The Echappée (Escaped) aquarium by Sébastien Cordoleani is what happens when Art Nouveau meets fish tank. The amorphous glass-blown dome is meant to convey the idea of flowing water. Fish are able to swim into the dome, which stays filled with water thanks to atmospheric pressure holding the water in.

The newest squirrelfish, Neoniphon pencei

Neoniphon pencei represents only the sixth species of the genus. The bright red and white striped squirrelfish hails from Rarotonga, Cook Islands in very deep waters (90-115 meters / 300-375 feet). Recent exploration of reef 'twilight zones' is yielding a lot of undescribed species.
