Last Monday, the Smithsonian announced it was closing its Invertebrate Exhibit. This Monday, its doors closed to the public. In April 2014, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission proposed a ban of Indo-Pacific lionfish importation into Florida in an effort to combat the invasive species running amuck in the Atlantic. This week, the commission approved the ban.
