A new mini crayfish from Australia

Participating in freshwater aquarium communities, there are three truths we've learned. People love cories, plecos, and are cray cray for crayfish. A new tiny Gramastacus sp. crayfish was discovered in a most unlikely place: a tropical swamp at New South Wales, one of Australia's most developed areas.

Liopropoma olneyi is an “old” new species

Readers of Advanced Aquarist may remember the Curacao deepwater Golden Basslet, Liopropoma aberrans, which was first collected and sold in 2011 for an speculated $~9000 USD. As it turns out, DNA barcoding of mysterious fish larva revealed that this fish was actually not L.aberrans but rather a new species, Liopropoma olneyi!
