Pseudocrenilabrus pyrrhocaudalis is a new African cichlid endemic to Lake Mweru (a smaller freshwater lake directly south of Lake Tanganyika and 150 miles NW of Lake Malawi). It is most similar to P. philander and is found in intermixed population with its mouth-brooding cousin.
