The illusion of space


Like any good artist, a good aquascaper can draw your eye where he/she intends.

This is Thai aquascaper Ittipong Deewan’s creation, “Cave of Souls.”  By selecting the appropriately sized rocks, plants, and live stock and arranging the elements to create a framed vanishing point towards the top middle (aided by the placement of the light, which draws your eyes towards the vanishing point), Deewan was able to create the illusion of width and depth that belies the aquariums actual small dimensions.
