Goliath Grouper:1, Black Tip Reef Shark:0

Goliath groupers have been fished to critically endangered status, but since becoming a protected no-take species, their population are slowly but steadily rebounding.  While goliath groupers look like sea monsters, they are known to be gentle giants around divers, as the photo below shows.  Now, if you’re a reef shark, that’s a whole other story.

It’s a bigger fish eat big fish world out there.  Nature is awesome like that.
