One of the world's sexiest gobies ... is freshwater

Stiphodon anniaeae is found in high gradient, fast-moving rivers in Halmahera (Indonesia).  Its beauty takes after the rest of the genus;  Stiphodon contains some of the world’s most beautiful gobies, freshwater or saltwater.  A Google image search of “Stiphodon” results in eye-candy galore.

Stiphodon are active, peaceful omnivores.  While not all that common in the hobby, they make great aquarium fish if you can replicate their habitat of fast-moving streams.  The water should be well oxygenated and clean, and large smooth rocks (e.g. “river stones”) will provide natural landing spots for these gobies.
