Eshopps AF 300 Sump unboxing, impressions

Last year, Eshopps launched their color series. I had the opportunity to get my hands on the their Alpha class sump, the AF 300. They had a big line up of sumps and I picked this particular model because I could see that they really paid attention to minor details, such as:

1.) Built in float switch if you choose to plug your RODI directly into the sump using a solenoid valve.

2.) Probe holder / quick connector for doser lines so that they don’t fall off, and acrylic rods that can stay submerged in the water so that they don’t splash what you dose.

3.) Ample fuse size which can also double as a biotope. I’ve never had a built in fuge before, but I am a huge advocate and believer of algae filtration. I really liked how it slows the water’s flow, which maximizes the growth of algae.

4.) Really spacious. With all the work and experiments that I do, I need all the space that I can get. The foot print as well as the overall size was really appealing to me. Check the video out and see if this is something that you would be interested, the next time you are in the market for a new filtration system.

I also need your opinions!

1.) What should I put in the fuge? A. Mantis shrimp. B. Dwarf warty anglerfish C. Small horsefish.

2.) What do you guys recommend that I use to clean the acrylic panel that is on the front of the fuge?
