Best lights for phytoplankton???

Just curious about the best lights to grow phytoplankton .I always had good growth with standard light bulbs from Home Depot and also white led strip lighting. Do you think using red and blue lightbulbs or grow light will promote better phytoplankton growth?? Thanks everyone!!

Evan though they're talking about chato, I would believe the results would be similar to phyto.

I will probably do a test using one bottle with white light and another with a red &blue bulb

I have always seen it done with regular florecent shop lights

Im guessing a better light would give better results

Nothing to compete with it since it can?t be contaminated anyway

I changed the bulb in my sump to the red and blue light and the cheato is doing much better
