Help! chaeto dying

i tried doing only at night but they die. My nitrates are 5ppm but phosphate is 5ppm

Since the nutrient levels are sufficiently elevated, the light intensity may be too low for the Chaeto to survive with only twelve hours of light.

The only time mine would die is if it grew out of space or I stripped my tank too far with carbon/rowaphos. If you are stripping its food source then it tends to die, at least that's my experience. Tunicata suggestion of the par38 is also good for growing it out like a madman. I swapped back over to the cfl spiral bulb 5500k and I grow mine just fine but not as fast as I did with the par38.

Honestly I just have no clue where the neck I put it during my tank transfer.
