Tank Suggestions

Hey guys I currently live in an old appartment building in the bronx and have a 46 Bow Front tank. My question is, I want to go bigger maybe a 90 gallon fish tank but i'm worry about the floor holding. What do you guys think should I take a chance?

No. Murphy's law applies to reefing too. Have the floors looked at by someone experienced in weight bearing.

Like Deanos said, have someone like carpenter, or contractor look at your floors. Better safe than sorry.

A way to find out how much to floors can hold is ask the land lord or the person in charge of your apt. building. I know when I set up a fish tank for my grandparents in there apt. I asked supervisor of my grandparents apt. building about the floors and he told me right there how much the floors can hold.

Best bet is to ask the super, but a 90 should be fine as long as it goes across the beams - that way you'll have 3-4 support beams running beneath the tank.
