A 55 is a little on the small side to keep a yellow and a hippo tang in, how big are they??

yep. it is too small.
The yellow tang I had for about 3 years now, grow from 3.5" to 4". The tank did not seem too small for him.
The hippo tang I had for about 2 years. When I got him he was the size of a penny. He is now over 6" long, I had no idea he grew so fast. I may have to give him to someone who has a much bigger tank.

The kind of corals you can have is determined by your light and water parameters. I keep very hardy corals and I keep them as high up as I can.

I do a 5 gal water change every sunday and I dose calcium and trace elements 2 times a week.
