After a cycle your water quality isn't the best. Nitrates are usually very high and you'll go through several algae blooms. After about 1 month, when your ammonia and nitrites are 0 you'll have to polish your up your water quality for livestock. A water change, some carbon (chemipure is ok), and phosphate removing media would all be beneficial.

So, I would agree with cheif. It would be a waste. Let the tank do its thing for a while, then clean it up and maintain it.
