Here's my problem....

I have a leaking 55g tank filled with fish and corals, the corals I will sell off but the fish are my concern. I have the following

1 Sailfin tang
1 Yellow tang
1 Clown
1 Royal Gramma
3 Blue chromis
6 line wrasse
1 Cleaner shrimp
1 Coral banded shrimp
2 tuxedo urchins
1 Sally lightfoot

I have to set up a 30 gallon octagon tank I have. Listing all the sealife above is a 30g octagon too small for these to survive? Im guessing so but I can not buy a new tank today. Id rather not get rid of any fish but if the smaller tank will harm them I have no choice.

The coral will be up for sale soon along with a few lights, filters and pumps as I honestly dont have the room for a 55g tank anymore.

The tangs are going to grow to be too big for the tank. The others should be ok. And even if you keep them its going to be a rather large bioload for that size tank, IMO.

You still won't be able to keep the tangs in that tank.

From the fish you listed you could keep the...

1 Clown
1 Royal Gramma
3 Blue chromis
6 line wrasse
1 Cleaner shrimp
1 Coral banded shrimp
2 tuxedo urchins
1 Sally lightfoot

So basically everything but the tangs. Just keep up with your water changes and you'll be fine.

I wasn't proposing the 55gallon as a new home for the tangs, just as a replacement for his leaking tank.

The 55 was too small for all of those fish. Sell the 2 tangs and you would be ok for stocking on the 30 but you still are bioload heavy. I would suggest a great skimmer for the 30 as well.

Yea ill be posting up the 2 tangs for sale shortly. Is it silly to sell them as a pair only? They never leave each others side.

I'd suggest selling one of the urchins... to me! Seriously though a 30 may not be enough room or provide enough food for 2 tuxedo urchins. I'd gladly take one off your hands though.
