Protein in my sump...

I have a 90g tank that I just started up about 14 days ago i have added live rock into it 2 times since startup and since the rock was in my skimmer has been going wild but I'm starting to see a protein build up in my sump in the return chamber is this normal?

Your tank is still cycling there is a way to go before things start to level off.

Rock in a protein skimmer? Am I reading that right? Why do you say that there is protein in your sump? Are you seeing bubbles? Are you using a filter sock? Pics would be helpful.

I think he meant that since the rock was put in, the skimmer has been going crazy. Thats normal as your tank cycles, the die off will cause the skimmer to work. And not sure what he means by protein build up in the return chamber, thinking maybe there is not filter sock or pad and its die off crap settling in the sump. But like Chief said, pics would help.
