I have a few emeralds in my tank and dont think they've ever touched my xenia. They might pick at everything, but only cause they're looking for food. I dont think they want to eat xenia though.

Ditto. But anything is possible in a reef tank.

my emeralds never touched the xenia.

tangs won't nip at the xenia but they will nip at algae growth on the rocks around it which might result in death. I am losing the xenia field in my tank so anyone who wants to pass some along, feel free to pm me.
