Hello-
I currently have a 46 gal. bowfront, mostly FOWLR but I have a few 'shrooms xenia and Kenya Trees. For lighting I have the Nova Extreme T5 HO system.

I am in the process of planning a 90 gal. system which will prob. be more of the same, though I'd like a bit more "punch" than the T5 on my current tank.

Do I have to go with MH for that lovely shimmer-y look? Or would anyone recommend CF? I would probably have to get a unit with legs as opposed to hanging pendants.

So in a nutshell, will higher end T5 HO units or a CF unit give my tank that shimmery look? Sorry for the long winded question, and thatnks in advance for your help!!

Hi Wingo-
I looked at your LED fixtures- very cool!
However I was unable to find any info on solarPODs. Are they also hi-power LED's?

thanks,
Jan

They are Super High Power LEDs

a Wingo LED ~200W model is around $1000. This model was said to be MUCH brighter than the Solaris 4' I Series that cost over $2500. However, I do not own a Solaris I Series, so I have not tested it myself to prove the claim.

I have tested an ebay 48W LED panel that many members asked about the possibility of it. I found the highest PAR it gets at 2" on is 195 (3 digits). Please compare it with my thread of SolarPOD PAR data 1999(4 digits, ye you read it right 4 digit PAR out of a 30W SolarPod)!!!! I bought this 49W LED panel of other manufacturer from a customer who switched to my products if you need me to demo for side by side comparison.

Stay Tuned. If I have enought time after the TV show tomorrow, I will post a 2 x SolarPod (70W) data.
Call me tomorrow night if you want to understand the technology more. Buying or not is not an issue.
