Lighting upgrade - AP24g

So I was thinking about buyig the stunner led strips to replace the stock PC lighting on my aquapod 24g. http://www.petsolutions.com/Stunner-LED-Lighting-Strips+I45808013.aspx

can these be used as main lights or are they just for accent?

I was thinking 1 8000k and one 403nm actinic blue.

I figured if I could go led without breaking the bank it would be worth it and it could even broaden what corals I could keep compared to the pc lighing I have.

To replace my current sunlaq 32w is gnna cost me $44 so o figured I'd double that mt and not have to replace bulbs for a long time

they are just for accent, they will not replace your pcs

i also checked out there power modules from ecoxotic, they arent very powerful either...

Damn LED lighting and its expensiveness haha.

I guess it does make sense, cuts down on electricity.. and the need to change bulbs every 6-12 months.

If you mount 4 of their Panorama modules in your hood, they are more then enough to grow even SPS in a 24g to 29g nano tank, just that they will run you $380.

hey pecan, have you used those modules or seen them in person?

i checked those out in person and they are really bad. you can seriously stare at them dead on and barely added light too a 14gal. they are a pretty bad buy imo

Yes I do. I have 2 modules retro fitted into a 12g nano hood.
