I have a chance to pick up some great rock for a killer price. The rock has been sitting in stagnate water for at most 2 days.

My question is the rock will still be alive right? I plan on putting an airstone in there once I get it as I'm going on vacation in a day for a week.

The air stone will keep it live. Had 2 setups to store rock, when I moved, 1 in stagnate water and one with an airstone. The one with an airstone kept live and the other went black and smelled of low tide.

he broke down the tank last night so it will only be sitting in the water for a max of 24 hours.. I take it that is ok.. I'll bring a airstone when i pick it up for transport.

just smell it, if it stinks you've gotta start over, if it has that fresh rock smell you're good to go. For transportation you don't need anything. Just wrap it in wet newspaper or put it in the cooler and cover it with wet newspaper or foil.
