Ok so i stumbled upon this forum last night and I love what I see so far. :) I found out today that a friend of mine has been a member of this forum for some time now but was holding out on me. LOL. Anyway, I am a new owner of a 24gal nano cube that is in it's second week of cycling. I have LS and LR in the tank. The tank has a lot of brown algae everywhere which I was told could just be because it is still cycling. I haven't done anything to the tank like upgrading the pump or anything but I was told that I should eventually do so. Any tips or advice would be much appreciated. I look forward to my new adventure. :)

Wow! Thanks for the links NYreefNoob, Ok I will try to answer your questions. The rock and the sand are both live. The rock is Fiji Rock. When I first set up the tank I was running the lights for a long time. Now since I saw the algae I have only been running the lights for about two hours out of the day on a timer. I want to add a skimmer but have not done so. I am using a reef master test kit that I purchased when I got the tank. I am still researching the kind of coral and fish I want to keep- Although my husband bought tow damsels against my wishes. My friend wants to give me his clarki clown fish as well. Is this a good idea?

Welcome to Manhattan Reefs Lady. Rather than bombard you with a ton of questions, I'll let you look at and respond to NYreefNoob's post.

Best of luck with your new hobby (soon to be obsession ;) ).

You did respond, but since you included links in your post (The ones in the quote from Rick you needed it to be approved by a mod. This will be for a short time, once you hit the required post count you will not need approval.

Thanks Froggie!
So what goes on at the fragswap? It's being held at Pace University right? I attended that college for a short while many moons ago. LOL.
