Pregnant Sexy Shrimp

I noticed that one of my sexy shrimps looks bloated today. Is it pregnant?

uhh crustaceans carry their eggs underneath their tails. So if you mean that theres a brown mass under the shrimp then yeah she's carrying.

how long before she lays the eggs...i'm hoping to pick up a breeder tomorrow morning at the LFS.

The eggs stick to her until they hatch. In about 1-2 weeks i think they'll hatch, but they'll be microscopic and need phytoplankton and such.

I once had Skunks spawn in my tank. There were these glass like creatures swimming erratically all over the tank. This was a night so by day light they were gone. Good luck in catching the babies!

I purchase a breeder yesterday (net type). Took awhile but was able to lure and capture the shrimp. She's resting comfortably now in the breeder.

I highly doubt it that you will be successfull in raising the fries. Just release her back in the tank and let the fish seast on them.

Goodluck man, really want to see how it goes for u. im also really into inverts and i have a pair of pom pom crabs and the female is always carrying eggs she has been for the past couple of months but from wat i read its almost impossible to raise the fry even something as small as a little water movement into the breeder would crush them against the net. well good luck

P.S. also have a pair of sexy shrimp and i always noticed that one was always fatter then the other so i guess it was when she was carring eggz
