I just received my 5/8" black hose that I ordered and notice that the walls are not as thick as the 3/4" clear hose that I have. Is the thinner walled hose more prone to leakage and failure?

I hever had had a problem with either type hose.

Just my sure to use the right fitting for connections,

Thanks Louey - I don't want to have any problems when I start up my pumps.

The wall thickness doesn't matter much for aquarium applications. I've never had a vinyl tubing burst from excessive pressure.

Ditto what len said. Most of the problem happened when the hose was not attached properly. You really need a hose clamp or a zip tie to make sure it does not come loose due to the vibration, etc..
