MACNA 2019 Orlando: The Eye Candy Part One

by | Oct 8, 2019 | Corals, Eye Candy, MACNA, Photography | 0 comments

I certainly do love this picture-heavy part of my MACNA coverage the most and I can’t wait to share with you some of the highlights of this year’s show. Despite the threat hurricane Dorian brought to the outset of MACNA (the hurricane, fortunately, ended up sparing Florida from the worst of its fury), vendors did not disappoint and showed up en masse with numerous fantastic looking coral species. Fleshy LPS, zoanthids and to some extent, SPS corals dominated the shallow frag tanks’ real estate in Orlando.

My gear this year consisted of:

Nikon D850 camera with Tamron 45mm f/1.8 and Nikkor 105mm Macro f/2.8 lenses plus deep yellow photographic filters and off-camera speedlight affixed with blue filter gel over them.

Featured in this episode:

-Top Shelf Aquatics

-Zoanthids.com

-Hobe Sound Frags

-Strictly Fish

-Blue Seas Aquariums
