One thing that’s been a bit surprising to me is how few blogs there are for our hobby’s niche. Many of the retailers have blogs like Marine Depot and Premium Aquatics, but (at least from what I’ve seen) there are very few actual hobbyists blogging about what they’re doing. I asked this question to our Facebook fan group and got a couple replies.
Since there were only a couple replies to the post I thought I’d open it up to our larger readership here on the magazine website. To get us started, here’s a couple I know about and subscribe to in Google Reader:
- Rimless Reef
- Chad Vossen
- Frag’d It
- Leonardo’s Reef
- Nano Reef Aquarium
- Nat’s Wondrous Aquarium Blog
- Obsessive Compulsive Reef Disorder
- Saltwater Aquarium Blog
- unrulymck’s Reef Blog
It’s great to see what everyone else is doing and keep track of it all.
This is your chance to publicize your blog to our readership. If you have a blog, please post about it below. Post a link and a quick description about what you’re blog is about. We’d love to see what you’re doing!
It would also be interesting to discuss why more people in our hobby haven’t created blogs with free blogging services proliferating around the net like Blogger, WordPress.com, Tumblr, Posterous, etc.
