10171300_10152349479978908_5062828833889193980_nNews that Mat Roy, President of Living Color and co-star of Fish Tank Kings on Nat Geo WILD is leaving his position at the company was quite a surprise to me. Having worked with the man for years, I know it was a difficult decision for him to leave the largest custom aquarium exhibit builder in the country, a company that he spent 20 years building.

Mat’s departure from Living Color leaves some big shoes to fill, but knowing many of the dedicated employees who remain, I am confident that they will continue to produce some of the finest custom aquariums in the world.

I am certain that Mat will excel in his new position at the upcoming St. Augustine Aquarium and I wish him all the best in his exciting new endeavor.

Press Release:

For 20 years, Living Color has been my home away from home. Today I’m announcing my departure.

I extend my deepest gratitude to Dana Parham and all of my colleagues, who have labored tirelessly beside me on this wonderful adventure.  We have accomplished so much in this time. We were the first to create large-scale extreme aquariums for private residences and aquariums in the field of play, such as the Miami Marlins ballpark. We designed and manufactured world-renowned museum-quality aquarium interiors. We have created some of the most amazing products and aquariums in the world. Being a part of Fish Tank Kings has also been an unforgettable experience.

  • Francis is a marine biologist with an MBA and over 20 years of professional aquarium experience. He is an avid explorer having visited over 45 countries and lived in 7. At 17, he was among the youngest aquarists ever hired by the Vancouver Aquarium, where he worked for 7 years. His aquatic biology experience ranges from larval fish rearing to the design, construction and operational management of renowned public aquariums around the world.
