Most Beautiful Italian Marine Aquarium: Voting Begins – First Round

by | May 7, 2024 | Contest | 0 comments

We’ve finally reached the beginning of our spectacular contest. 43 marine aquariums are in the running. Here is how you can vote starting now, while we’re at Interzoo in Nuremberg for you!

We’re very pleased with how our contest has developed. We’ve worked hard, and this is the result: a whopping 43 tanks in the running, competing head-to-head in the coming weeks

Pink Quote

We knew that aquarium keeping was predominantly a male hobby, but out of 43 tanks, only one is managed by a woman. We’ll see if she can stand out among all these men. We can tell you that the aquarium is really beautiful, although you’ll only see it in the second phase.

The Bracket

We started with some marine aquariums chosen by us, but then we opened it up to anyone that wanted to participate in the contest, and the response exceeded our wildest expectations. This put us in front of some choices. The first was to accept all the applications, even though in the presentation video, we had said that we might do some screening. The photos were chosen by the aquarium enthusiasts, some to enhance the fluorescences, some to highlight the daylight illumination. For fairness, we didn’t retouch any photos.

The aquariums that were available at the opening of the contest to the public were considered seeded entries. Those who sent us their tanks will have to face off in a preliminary round before challenging the seeded entries. The matchups have been arranged based on the GROSS size of the aquarium, to be fair to everyone and to eliminate discretion. So, in the bracket, you’ll find the largest aquariums on the top left, while the smallest ones will be on the bottom right. The average capacity is 500 liters, with the smallest being 44 liters and the largest being 3600 liters. The front-facing photos were chosen by the candidates, but we ask you to look beyond the photo and try to understand the aquarium to give your vote.

What’s the prize?

The contest aims to showcase marine aquariums in Italy and around the world. So, we promise maximum visibility. And the aquarium chosen as the most beautiful in Italy will receive a visit from us, allowing us to create a spectacular article, complete with photos and videos. And perhaps even be featured in the world’s most prestigious industry magazines like Korallen, Corals, or UltraMarine.

How to vote

Voting will be very simple. Starting tomorrow, every day, you can vote for the competing marine aquariums. Every morning, we’ll post the two competing aquariums on our social channels on Instagram and Facebook, and from that moment, you’ll have 24 hours to like one of the two tanks. After 24 hours, we’ll stop the voting and tally up the likes for each aquarium. The one with the most likes will advance to the next round. We’ve decided to start with the smaller aquariums, so from the bottom right of our bracket.

So, as they say, may the best one win!
