The International Journal of Ichthyology recently reported a new species of flasher wrasse. This flasher wrasse from southern Indonesia, which was found between 15 and 21 metres, is closely related to P. angulatus from the Phillipines and northern Borneo.  A stunning fish with a few distinguishing features, ranging from a lack of filamentous extensions of the dorsal fin rays to colour pattern differences, that set it apart from other flasher wrasse.
