Red Bubble Algae (Botryocladia) is a reef aquarium nuisance that can spread if early signs are ignored.
Identification: Smooth red bubble-like vesicles on rock and frag plugs, often in clusters.
Treatment / Management: Twist or peel bubbles off carefully while siphoning to reduce fragment spread, then correct nutrient excess.
Prevention: Inspect and clean frags and rock before introduction, quarantine additions, and maintain stable nutrient export.
