These new discoveries are being integrated into a comprehensive package of biological, geological, and bathymetric data. Sea & Reef created the Snow Storm Clownfish by breeding one of their Black Storm Clownfish with a Phantom Clownfish. The result is a beautiful white fish with Black eyes, fins and lips. The all white and black face makes the Snow Storm Clownfish very distinct from other white morphs like the Wyoming White Clownfish as pictured below. http://bit.ly/newsJeremy103 Peter- At a certain time in the future, you will suffer from reefer's boredom. It's inevitable, everyone goes through it... and the reasons are many the tank is doing too good and you don't want to change anything in fear of it crashing, or the tank crapped out and you don't want to look in its general direction at all, or perhaps you have other things going on and something simply has to be put on the back burner. Whatever that reason, the remedy is the same- you need to find some source of inspiration to get back into the hobby you truly cherish. You can watch a Netflix documentary about animals that make you never want to hike, swim, or dive in the dark again, take a long bike ride thinking about anything and everything that comes to your mind, or peep at a photo of somebody else's aquarium being awesome and get inspired by that experience. You can also casually lurk around the website of United States Patent and Trademark Office to see if any of the aquarium industry companies you know and follow filed for any new trademarks worth checking. Out of boredom, you know. http://bit.ly/newsPeter103 Main Topic: This is the Reef News Network, why are we talking about Brackish Aquariums?? Listener Request - Joe Joe is a student at one of the schools with a planted aquarium that Jeremy installed. Jeremy has spoken with Joe a number of times and they have discussed all kinds of fish and tanks. Joe requested a while back an Episode on Brackish tanks and even recently did a video project at school about this podcast. In the video he made the request again, so let's run with it! The other two are biological and chemical filtration. Mechanical filtration is an essential component of a saltwater aquarium. Whether it is a filter sock, filter pad, or filter block, is up to you; but they all physically remove debris from your tank water. The mechanical filter media sits inside your filter unit and physically traps and strains any solid waste that passes through your filter system. With the waste removed, clean water flows back to your aquarium. This disperses the pump's output into a wide swath of your aquarium, eliminating dead spots and hot spots. We've all had a power head make a hole in the sand bed at some point- the sweeping motion prevents water movement from being focused on one area for a prolonged period of time. http://bit.ly/newsJeremy102 Peter- Review of Easy-Reefs Easy Mastick food. http://bit.ly/newsPeter101 Main Topic: Crusty Gold!
