Thanksgiving is a time for gathering together with family, which means many of us will be travelling at some point over this holiday weekend. The Automobile Association of America (AAA) projects that 48.7 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more between today and Sunday, and a decent percentage of that group is made up of kids – kids whose routines have been interrupted, who may not necessarily want to be travelling right now, and who will almost definitely get bored at some point during the trip.

To that end, I suggest that you download a new game or two right before you leave, so it is still fresh and exciting for the trip. Dubbed the “#1 aquarium / fish app in the iTunes Appstore”, Dream Fish is a free game that should provide hours (or at least a few dozen blissful minutes) of entertainment. It is available for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. In this game, you buy, sell, care for, and breed any number of different fish species to earn coins and advance through 80 consecutive levels. And you’re not bound by reality here – breed a Blowfish and a Clownfish, or a Leafy Sea Dragon and a Longfin Bannerfish – the possibilities are endless. You can also clean and decorate your tank with hundreds of decorations and plants, as well as stock it with everything from killer whales to hermit crabs. So, while it might not be the most scientifically accurate app out there, it is a lot of fun.
