No, that’s not a typo. This is an accumulation of art put together by Brighton Sea Life Centre with the intent of entertaining and stimulating the ever-curious, brilliant mind of their resident octopuses.
Displayed in five tanks, the art is designed to play into their fascination with shape, color and texture. The elements, created with various materials including wood, ceramic and rope, were slow-soaked in saltwater to ensure any possible toxins were leeched from each piece. The brains behind the Great Britain exhibit consists of two sets of brothers dubbed “Das Balloon”. Featured artworks are a cluster of grapes and a plate of spaghetti. This is a really innovative idea and a great way to keep this ever-inquisitive Cephalopod entertained. You can marvel at this unique display starting today, November 7, 2014.
