A photo is worth a thousand words. And you have to check out this mind blowing photo of a seal catching a ride on the back of a humpback whale off the New South Wales coast in Australia. At first look, it looks like the seal is surfing or almost walking on water until you look closer._85591521_exclsealtakesarideonahumpbackwhale7

The seal was on the pectoral fin of the whale as captured by this awesome photo. Whale expert Geoff Ross, of New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife, told the Sydney Morning Herald that the coupling was very rare but he had heard of it happening once before. “The only other time was a seal trying to get away from a killer whale. The seal hopped on the back of the pectoral fins of a humpback whale,” he said. This amazing photo was captured by Robyn Malcolm. She said that it was not until after she got home and looked at her photos that she realized the seal was on the Humpback whale. You have to wonder what was going through that seals mind? Maybe it got tired of swimming? Or was it just looking to have some fun? I suppose we shall never know for now. MORE
