Recently Kessil announced it’s new Optical Kits that help further enhance the AP700’s color mixing while reducing shading and scattering the light at a wider angle. The diffusers allow the user to subdue the shimmer, or disco effect as it’s sometimes called. Kessil claims the Optical Kits are great for acclimating new corals to the Kessil LED lighting and no tools are required to attached the kits because they magnetically attach to the fixtures. These graphs show the spread and intensity of the light produced by the AP700 with and without the Optical Kits attached. With an Optical Kit installed, the hotspots are less intense, reducing the likelihood of coral bleaching. The Google Headquarters in Zurich Switzerland is providing it’s employees with a gorgeous relaxation room that includes 5 large aquariums. Matthias Gross, the owner of GHL states, “We are very proud that Google has chosen our products for the illumination and controlling. Obviously Google didn’t want any compromises in regards to quality and security standards.” For the lighting requirements, Google chose to use the high-powered LED Mitras Lightbars on 5 aquariums in it’s relaxation room. To further increase the automation capabilities of the relaxing atmosphere and cut down on the need for extra maintenance, Google installed the ProfiLux Aquarium Controllers on it’s aquariums. The Profilux modular system manage tasks and monitor parameters for complete lighting control, pH and temperature control as well as leak detection. 10 Gallon Tek Series Water Tank BioTek Marine has just released it’s new line of Tek Series Auto Top-Off Water tanks for your aquarium. These new elegantly US crafted water tanks are now available in the Tek Series Grey and Blue cast acrylic to complement the Tek series sumps. They are purposefully designed to match the Tek series sumps but they can easily be used alongside most any sump. Each model features an easy access port for the feed pump located on the back left corner.
