The Google Headquarters in Zurich Switzerland is providing it’s employees with a gorgeous relaxation room that includes 5 large aquariums. Matthias Gross, the owner of GHL states, “We are very proud that Google has chosen our products for the illumination and controlling. Obviously Google didn’t want any compromises in regards to quality and security standards.” For the lighting requirements, Google chose to use the high-powered LED Mitras Lightbars on 5 aquariums in it’s relaxation room. To further increase the automation capabilities of the relaxing atmosphere and cut down on the need for extra maintenance, Google installed the ProfiLux Aquarium Controllers on it’s aquariums. The Profilux modular system manage tasks and monitor parameters for complete lighting control, pH and temperature control as well as leak detection. The crew at GHL has rolled out some new gear for the new year. A few days ago, they unveiled their new Powerbar 5.1, and it looks to add some serious firepower to the already impressive lineup ProfiLux 3 controller accessories. As its name suggests, the new Powerbar sports 5 outlets, all of which are switchable. Of those five, one is is dimmable, a good choice for aquarium lighting, and another is supplied with permanent power, a good option for pumps or lights. GHL Dosing Pump GHL has a nifty new dower hitting the market next month, and while we don’t know all of the juicy details, we do know that it will feature some very useful wireless communication features that could lead to some serious mobile friendly aquarium supplementation. In addition to the WiFi, the new dower will also have ports for connecting magnetic stirrers that will help mix up supplements before they’re added to the tank, as well as a port for connecting the new GHL Control Pad. Rounding out the feature list, the doser will have 24v stepper motors, the ability to measure temperatures and respond with an alarm when they’re out of range, auto top-off and auto water change modes with a pair of water level sensors, and expandability up to 16 pumps with slave units. More details are said to be available next week, along with pricing for North America. That said, prices for Europe are as follows: GHL Doser 2 unit with: -2 pumps: 285 € + tax -3 pumps: 336 € + tax -4 pumps: 386 € + tax Preorders will start later this month and the units will land the last week of September. GHL, the company responsible for such great products as the ProfiLux controller and the various Mitras LED fixtures, is filling out their accessory line with some fancy new probe holders. The probe holders come in two versions, with the smallest holding a single probe and the largest accommodating up to four. Both models sport clear acrylic wrapped around embedded neodymium magnets, which allow the units to be placed anywhere in the aquarium or sump. Securing the probes within the holders are nylon thumbscrews, which simply tighten down on the probes. For the sake of visual continuity, we would have preferred to see titanium thumbscrews, but given the fragile nature of glass probes, we can certainly appreciate GHL going with function over style. The magnets are clearly visible from within the probe holder, a design not unlike the Vertex probe holders. Each probe holder can work on glass or acrylic that is up to 15mm thick.
