Last year, Icecap acquired the patent for Maxspect’s revolutionary gyre, which provides linear water movement, and released their own iteration of the 3k version. What was the difference between Maxspect’s pump and the Icecap version? … by AquaNerd | Mar 3, 2018 | Equipment, Tanks
IceCap just recently announced a new line of skimmers called the K1. Not more than two weeks later IceCap is back in the news with additional product announcements. Spoiler alert, more to come. The first product announcement is the new IceCap 1K Gyre pump. The pump was built with smaller reef aquariums in mind. Before the 1K, the gyre style pumps were really built with larger reef tanks in mind. Finally reefers with smaller aquariums can enjoy gyre flow patterns with this fully controllable linear flow pump. The pump is recommended for aquariums between 20 and 50 gallons with an affordable $129.99 price tag. <![CDATA[ #gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-1 img { by Afishionado | Feb 17, 2017 | Equipment, Technology, Video

The IceCap brand is continuing its expansion with the release of their new single channel dosing pump. Based on the popular peristaltic pump design, the IceCap Liquid Dosing Pump is great for adding all sorts of supplements to your aquarium, including two-part supplements, kalkwasser solutions, top off water, and pretty much any other type of liquid. The pump will be offered in the form of a master unit, seen above, and a slave unit that presumably lacks the onboard controls. Instead of those controls, it will receive all of its operating instructions from the master unit, and up to four units can be linked together. The Liquid Dosing Pump can dose anywhere from 1-99ml of solution per cycle, with a maximum of one cycle per hour and a minimum of one per nine days. As for other features, the dosing pumps have a Delayed Mode Operation which prevents the dispersal of liquid whenever the unit loses power, being especially useful when more than one dosed is being used. Additionally, the doser can be calibrated in order to keep up with its accuracy and it even has a service door latch that makes maintenance quick and easy. by AquaNerd | Jul 23, 2014 | Industry, Science
After a brief time away from the aquarium industry, IceCap is officially back in the game and they’re brining their most popular product back with them. The ever popular IceCap 660 ballast is the flagship product making its return to the lighting scene, and it will offer the same great quality and features that made it so popular to begin with. The 660 can fire VHO, PC or high output T5 light bulbs while running cooler than other ballasts while using 40% less electricity and burning 40% brighter. Single 660 ballast can run up to 4 lamps or 440watts and is fully dimmable for T12 style VHO bulbs. On top of that, the ballast is fully repairable and comes with a three year warranty. As for new features of the ballast, most things are unchanged from its predecessors, but will utilize higher quality, non lead “RoHS Compliant” integrated components that allow the ballast to run cooler, reduces the failure rate, and even makes them a little more environmentally friendly. Now, I do realize we stated that the ballast is making its return, but it should be noted that it really never quite went away. IceCap’s former VP Chris Conti went to CoralVue after the company shut it’s doors, and when he left, he took the IceCap 660 and other products with him. The 660 was rebranded under the CoralVue name, but it just wasn’t the same
