Korallen Zucht Introduces new Coral System

Korallen-Zucht (KZ), the creators of the Zeovit System have come up with a new coral feeding platform that they are referring to as the “Coral System”. KZ’s Coral System is a four part system designed to provide vital elements and compounds that consists of 4 individual components that will be offered in the US as a “Synergy Package”. The package is available in a 4 x 250ml bottles for smaller aquariums and a 4 x 500ml package for larger aquariums. The purpose of the Coral System is to provide trace elements and organic compounds vital to cellular as well as building mass and producing color pigments. Although each component can be used as a standalone product the best results are achieved when they are used in

Featured Tank: the Zeovit Method

Here’s some eye candy for you. Recently, featured as the Featured Tank on the Zeovit Forum Wesley Vrsswijk’s SPS and LPS aquarium is a a setup most any reef aquarist would be proud of. The photos are little oversaturated but you can certainly see that the corals and fish are very healthy. Congratulations to Wesley on his beautiful setup. Wesley shared a list of all the equipment parameters, photo period for his 264 gallon (total water volume) aquarium. For more photos drop over to the Zeovit forum. Korallen-Zucht CyanoClean Looks to Solve the Red Slime Problem

Korallen-Zucht, the brand behind the ZEOvit dosing method, has an interesting new product about to make its US debut, and it’s one you don’t have to be a total ZEOhead to enjoy. Called CyanoClean, this new liquid is a live bacteria designed to specifically out-compete cyanobacteria in the reef aquarium. The additive contains no antibiotics or cleansing agents, is perfectly reef safe, and is said to not alter the nutrient composition of the tank in a negative way. CyanoClean, which was developed as a companion product to Coral Snow and Zeozym, will be available in 10ml and 50ml sizes for $15.99 and $55.99 respectively. Pre-orders are currently being taken by ZEOvit USA, and should be entering the states in the next two weeks or so. As with all ZEOvit dosing, we highly recommend reading the dosing documentation and taking things slowly. It is a very stringent dosing program that, if not used properly, could have several harmful side effects.

AVAST Marine Works Vibe Reactor Really Shakes Up the Zeolites

AVAST Marine Works is looking to shake things up a bit in the world of zeolite use with the release of their new Vibe media reactor. Because zeolites have to be agitated daily, many hobbyists simply avoid the nutrient control system altogether, favoring less time intensive methods instead. That attitude might change for some with this new reactor, which automatically agitates the media throgh the use of “Amplitude Resonance Reactor” technology. The Vibe works by using a special vibration-inducing assembly to agitate the media gently and for short periods of time. The media jumps around and rotates, knocking off layers of bacterial film (called mulm) that often accumulate on the surface of the zeolite stones. In addition to agitating zeolites, the Vibe also works well for other media like carbon, GFO, and calcium carbonate. The “correctly calibrated vibration frequency and amplitude” agitate the media enough to break up channeling and to knock of any buildup, while at the same time being gentle enough to not grind up any friable media. Priced at $379.99, the Vibe has a footprint of 9.5″ around, with an overall height of 15.5″. It can house roughly 10 cups (2.5L) of various media
