Reefkeepers all know colors glow spectacular greens, oranges, blues, purples, and reds when radiated by blue (400-450nm) light. After all, it’s one of the main reasons why we illuminate our tanks with lots of blue LEDs and/or actinics. With special light filters such as the ones used on the cameras in these night dives, the biofluorescence is amped up to levels that borders on the surreal. Frankly, I’m surprised we aren’t viewing our reef tanks this way – through specialized filters to better appreciate the beauty of our aquariums.
