The Important Presence of Prodac at Interzoo 2022

Prodac‘s presence at Interzoo 2022 was very important to reaffirm the well-being of the company and its worldwide expansion.

Prodac had a booth that was a very respectable size, as you will see in the video below. It had a new position at the exhibition: far from the doorway between two pavilions that was very uncomfortable for the continuous stream of people.

The booth was always full of visitors and meeting Stefano Ara wasn’t easy at all! As marine aquarists, we are so glad that Prodac is increasingly expanding its products towards marine aquatics! Among other things, Prodac invited us to visit their production plant, so stay tuned and we promise you that soon you’ll see some good posts about this Italian company!

Now we’ll see Prodac‘s news, but first let’s start with our video!

Prodac’s booth at Interzoo 2022 in our video!

Before you go on, here is our video so that you can see the booth in action. Clicking on the link will send you directly to the part about Prodac, but you can also watch the rest of it. The video is in Italian, you only have to turn the English subs on! Enjoy!

We liked their decision to have paper catalogs, but instead, useful QR codes on the products, so anyone could download the information about the product. As we said in our editorial about Interzoo, this is something that many did and that we appreciated.

The biggest news revolved around feeds, Prodac‘s workhorse, but there were also supplements for marine aquariums, bioconditioners, and bacteria. We’ll go over everything in detail.

Prodac’s new products

Let’s start with TartaFood, a mixed feed for adult tortoises with the addition of vegetable pellets that lower the protein intake, which is around 26-27%.

Among feeds for cold water fish Axolotl stands out, a feed specifically designed for these animals, urodes, and salamanders. They have the interesting feature of sinking fast with a higher amount of fats than traditional feeds.

There was also Wafers Mix, a complete feed for bottom-dwelling fish and shrimp. The first thing that struck us was that fact that the box is biodegradable plastic. A concern for the environment that we really appreciated. Bravo Prodac!

A feed launched a few years ago that is having a lot of success is Prodac Red Parrot, designed for aquarium cichlids. A complete feed composed of 10% Krill, with added vitamin A, C, D3 and E, astaxantina, and Omega 3 and 6. The size of the grains is slightly smaller than the previously released wafer; it’s between 4 and 5 mm.

Not to mention the feeds dedicated to Arowana, red fish and other cichlids. An offer that covers every type of fish one can keep in a freshwater aquarium.

In addition to feeds, there was also the Aquasana line, bioconditioners for freshwater and marine water. It’s necessary for eliminating chloramines and chlorine in tap water and cancels the effect of heavy metals. All the bioconditioners are enriched with Aloe Vera, which is a special natural colloid that prevents damage to the gills and the mucus covering them. Another reference product of Prodac‘s catalog is Nitridac, a special mix of 9 bacterial strains with a density of over 40 million bacteria per milliliter. It’s a high concentration liquid of non-toxic bacterial strain, selected for their ability to digest organic materials and transform ammonia in aquariums. It’s used both in new and established freshwater and marine aquariums in order to transform the ammonia, which is highly toxic, into nitrites, and then nitrites into nitrates.

And finally there were new supplements for the marine world: 6 in total, each designed for a specific need of the marine aquarium, and they’re integrated with the special salt that Prodac has been producing and selling for years. Every mix helps increase the quantity of that element in the aquarium:

  • Marine KH Plus: specific product that increases the carbonate hardness, the KH, in aquarium;
  • Reef Calcium: specific product to increase calcium;
  • Reef Magnesium: specific product to increase magnesium;
  • Marine Trace Elements: specific product to increase trace elements – their concentration is so low that it wouldn’t make sense to make a specific product for each of them;
  • Reef Strontium: specific product to increase strontium;
  • Reef Potassium: specific product to increase potassium.
