Bio-Reef manager Jim Stamford tells News4Jax:
“[I] saw there was water all over the floor and obviously noticeably corals missing from the tank and stuff like there. [I] saw there were a lot of dry goods missing, lighting and stuff in this area. […] They obviously weren’t very smart because the types of corals they took are the more rare kinds, Australian and stuff like that … a little bit harder to get rid of if they’re trying to sell it on the Internet. It’s going to be a little bit tougher for them to get rid of. The reefing community is a very small community.”
The News4 video report shows holding tanks containing “Limited Edition” SPS and Chalice corals. Advanced Aquarist has contacted Bio-Reef for more information about this crime and will post them when they are available.
If you have any information about who’s responsible for the burglary, you’re asked to call Crime Stoppers at 866-845-TIPS.
