The new species is described from five specimens collected at Ryukyu Islands (Southern Japan) at a depth of 36 meters (over 100 feet deep), making this a relatively deepwater Trimma species.  Trimma yoshinoi is described in the latest publication of Journal of the Ocean Science Foundation.
