Shaped like a limpet, but no hard shell.. moves around alot, about an inch long..
What do you say?

I say it looks like a limpet. Disturb it and see if it withdrawls it's skirt and exposes the hard shell

If it just rolls up into a ball them I'm wrong.

hmm.. do limpets exhibit such a large, covering skirt? I have seen this one since you responded, and there does seem to be a hard shell visible underneath this semi-translucent skirt..

Yep, there ae quite a few limpets that have a skirt. Yours is uncommon I think. The ones I've seen are usually coal black but the shell is white. Sometimes it looks like a black nudi and sometimes it looks like a skunk

[Sea Critter]

Looks like a Keyhole limpet, although different colored mantle than the ones we see down here. They usually have a creamy orange color.
